Once Upon a Giant - An Adventure for Cairn

Once Upon a Time...

There was a Giant who stalked the land. It stole food, livestock, and the children. It had been this way for a very, very long time. Until a group of heroes pledged to the people of the land that they would stop this Giant. 

The heroes vowed to climb the enormous Toadstool where the giant sleeps, cross the Forest of Stalks, enter the village of Shroomtop where the giant keeps its servants, and storm the Giant's Fortress. Finally, the heroes pledged to kill the Giant as it slumbers.

Once Upon a Giant is a fairytale fantasy OSR adventure for Cairn by Yochai Gal, or any other OSR game with minimal conversion. 

In this 13-page PDF,  an adventuring party will face a dark journey through the centre of an enormous Toadstool, a hike through the Forest of Stalks to the town on top of the Toadstool called Shroomtop. Finally, the party must storm the Giant's fortress and attempt to kill him in his sleep. 

Made for the  A Town, A Forest, a Dungeon game jam, and the OSR June Jam 2.

This version of Once Upon A Giant is free as a playtest and conceptional concept for these jams. Any contributions are appreciated as they will help when/if I expand Once Upon a Giant into something greater. A future update may include:

• Maps instead of point crawls
• More fleshed-out encounters and rooms
• A larger and more complex ShoomTop Village
• Added stats for Old School Essentials
